Legacy Sports Performance & GBA Summer 2019 Pre-Tryout Camp
by posted 06/12/2019

How do I help prepare my child for baseball tryouts?

What do evaluators look for at tryouts?

Are there any tips to reduce my child’s nerves before tryouts?

We would like to introduce our 2019 Pre-Tryout Camp. This three day camp is designed to evaluate players and help them focus on amplifying their current strengths and addressing their current weaknesses.

  • Our coaching staff has played and evaluated at all levels, with over 10 years of experience.
  • Day one of the camp will be a practice tryout. We have worked directly with GBA in order to simulate their tryout process.
  • The following two days, players will be placed in specific groups to help improve their areas of weakness.
  • Players will spend more time improving the areas they scored low on, while also enhancing the areas they scored high on.

Areas of focus include:

  • Hitting (Rapsodo Hitting & Blast Motion)
  • Fielding Footwork
  • Fielding Glove Work
  • Throwing Patterns
  • Pitching Movements
  • Baserunning Speed and Agility

The following metrics and items will be collected during the camp:

  • Ball Exit Speed (Via Rapsodo Hitting)
  • Throwing Velocity (From Position)
  • Pitchers Velocity (On The Mound, All Pitches)
  • 30 Yard Dash
  • 5-10-5 Shuttle
  • Catchers POP Time
  • Hitting Film
  • Pitching Film
  • Defense Film
