Tryouts
Tryouts will be held the week of July 14th. Please click the link below for details on the process
AGES
8U Must be 8 years old or younger, may not turn 9 before May 1, 2026
9U Must be 9 years old or younger, may not turn 10 before May 1, 2026
10U Must be 10 years old or younger, may not turn 11 before May 1, 2026
11U Must be 11 years old or younger, may not turn 12 before May 1, 2026
12U Must be 12 years old or younger, may not turn 13 before May 1, 2026
13U Must be 13 years old or younger, may not turn 14 before May 1, 2026
14U Must be 14 years old or younger, may not turn 15 before May 1, 2026
WHEN
Fall: TBD by coach after tryout selections
Winter Training: January to March
Spring/Summer: Begins early April and ends in early to mid July
Tryouts follow the end of the season, typically mid July
Games and Practices

Practices: Winter training begins in January and location will be in the Fox Valley area depending on the facility the coach selects. During the season, coaches are encouraged to have at least 1 practice weekly with an understanding that game schedules may make this difficult.
League Games: KCBL (16), WSBL (18), Independent (16) - if pursuing an independent league, this needs to be pre-approved by the Travel President by no later than November 1st of the previous season, otherwise you will have to join one of the pre-approved leagues. Home games will be played at your age groups designated Geneva Park District Field
Local tournaments: Within 1.5 hour drive time
Overnight tournaments: Stay in a hotel
Registration and Travel Team Fees
Registration/Deposit Fee (due at acceptance of Roster spot): $250
Age and Fees (Includes Registration Fee)
8U -- $1,300
9U - 11U -- $1,500
12U - 14U -- $1,750
Uniforms
As part of your travel team fees, GBA will issue a home jersey, away jersey, two pairs of pants and a hat.
Expenses/Fundraising
- Teams may also elect to fundraise for additional dollars to help contribute to out of town tournaments, additional jersey’s, team events, etc. All fundraising is done as a team and not individuals (ie. Each player will not be responsible for a certain amount). For specific details please reach out to your manager or GBA for more information about fundraising policies.
- Excess funds following a completed travel baseball season will NOT be refunded unless there are extenuating circumstances deemed valid by the Travel Committee and GBA Treasurer. Excess funds will go towards GBA Travel overhead and equipment/fields costs.
- Money that is fundraised will NOT be returned to maintain GBA's compliance as a 501c3 organization.
EXTRA COST SECTION
Travel to and from tournaments, hotel accommodations, food, etc is the responsibility of each player
