Instructional, but competitive league with players pitching hardballs. Scores and standings are kept; end of season playoff tournament is held. The goal is skill development while having fun. 60’ bases with stealing introduced. Practices start in April. The season will attempt to be completed by July 4th (weather permitting). There will be an end of season tournament to determine a champion.

Players in this league are in 3rd & 4th grade
When
Practices start in April and games usually run through end of June /early July. The goal is to be done by the 4th of July.
Where
Practices and home games are typically held at Esping, Mill Creek, Peck Fields, and Sunset Field.

Practices are held at least once a week starting in early/mid April.
Games
Teams may play up to 20 games (including the year end tournament) with games starting in late April concluding prior to July 4th holiday.
Jerseys
The GBA provides each player with a hat, jersey, pants and socks. There are also helmets available at each practice and game, however just about all the kids have their own these days due to hygiene concerns. GBA also provides catcher equipment for each team.
Extra Costs
The equipment that you will need to get: Glove, Cleats (rubber), and Athletic Cup (boy players). Optional equipment are Bat, Batting Helmet and Carry Bag. Note that each year in March we have a GBA sponsored discount day at Dicks Sporting Goods in the Geneva Commons.
